Serious 15m high mast for Fieldday and DXpeditions!
This mast fits together nicely with all our portable Spiderbeam yagis. (For a picture with 2 Spiderbeams installed on such masts see the Installation hints). It will also carry a Heavy Duty Spiderbeam at a reduced height of 11m (36ft).
The individual sections are interlocked with strong high quality stainless steel clamps with allen screws. An allen wrench is supplied with the mast and no further tools are necessary. The mast should be guyed at two or three levels.
This mast was developed for serious portable operations & DXpeditions. It is still easy to transport by car and can be taken aboard normal sized airplanes. It will carry a portable Spiderbeam yagi at its full height of 15m. The extra height will be especially noticeable on 20 and 17m, giving you a lower take-off angle. The mast can be rotated by hand, or a rotator (e.g. KR-450 or KR-650) can be placed at the bottom and turn the whole mast including the Spiderbeam.
note: The tubes of our aluminium masts are anodized for surface protection. Due to increased contact resistances between the individual tube segments the mast cannot be used as a radiator for vertical antennas without further treatment.
