Please note, the rope is relatively stiff and not well suited for frequent coiling and uncoiling.
The black fabric around the Kevlar core serves primarily as a protective sheath and has no other function in tensile strength.
Kevlar is extremely resistant to stretching and is therefore inflexible.
In contrast, the protective fabric jacket is very flexible and encloses the Kevlar core when stretched.
If you bend, cut or wrap the material, you will see that the core is only loosely enclosed by the fabric.
The Kevlar core can come out of the fabric without tension. This is not a defect or damage.
It is only due to the very different elasticity of the materials.
As soon as the rope is tensioned again, the fabric encloses the Kevlar core again.
When cutting, the fabric it should be pulled over the core at the end and fused by brief heating. You can also fix the cut fabric by tying a knot.
Kevlar is simply the best material for permanent guylines without stretching.
However, it is somewhat more demanding to cut and assemble than a simple rope.
For a rope that should be light and flexible and is wound regularly, we recommend Dyneema, which is almost as strong as Kevlar and much less stretchy than simple PES.
